Main Contractor: Expro / Hydrafit Subsea Contract Value: £900K Area of Work: Aberdeen & Westhill
Brief Summary of Work: 500t and 200t Liebherr mobile cranes utilised to erect AX-S stack up. Lifting operation carried out under Contract Lift Services Conditions. The individual components of the stack varied in weights up to a maximum of 85te. Components where unique in nature for the offshore oil and gas sector and were of a high monetary value. Upon completion of testing the AX-S stack required to be disassembled. This involved vertical lifting, rotating 180° and turning to a horizontal position. The entire lifting operation required precision lifting carried out by competent personnel.
Main Contractor: Total E&P UK Ltd Contract Value: £54K Area of Work: St Fergus Brief Summary of Work: Contract crane plus additional ad-hoc cranes supplied to assist with 22 day shut-down project at the gas terminal. Lifting operations were required 24/7. Adherence to the strict time-table required as over running would have a serious impact on the terminal’s operational capabilities. Shut-down was completed on time and without incident, preparation for 2011 programme of shut downs already commenced with WWCH involvement. |
