ABOUT WHYTE CRANE HIRE

Where it ALL Began

Whyte Crane Hire Limited was first established in 2001 as a division of the William Whyte Cargo Handlers Limited. Building on our strengths we developed our fleet faster than we had dared to hope. Despite originally being established in Aberdeen, the continued growth and expansion of the business allowed us to open a second depot in Grangemouth.

The addition of the new depot in Grangemouth created a host of opportunities. We were now able to grow our fleet further, allowing us to cater to a wider array of jobs and requirements. The new location also meant areas further south were more accessible and so we could begin to welcome new customers from across the UK and Ireland.

In 2014, Lawrence Whyte demerged from the Whyte family, taking control of the Crane Hire element of the business. Since then, we have seen continued growth for the company. We employ around 70 staff and, at the beginning of 2018, we opened yet another depot in Dundee.

Although our fleet is constantly evolving, we consistently maintain a range of cranes with varied capacity, from 40 tonne to 750 tonne.
